Greetings all,

I'm in need of a way to programmatically tell Windows 98/2000/ME to connect to a network resource before attempting to open databases. We deployed an app on a peer-to-peer network recently. Each machine has a local copy of the EXE and support files; data is stored centrally and accessed via UNC-style path references). We quickly found that the app can't "see" a shared folder unless the user navigates there via Explorer first. The WNet[...]Connection family of functions in the Win32API don't seem to be what I'm looking for (although I could be wrong).

Any helpful tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I can provide further technical details if needed.

Thanks,
