Hey there Tom,

Thanks a lot for the kind words, I really appreciate them. I'm planning to come down to SF for the VSLive! launch, and I'm sure I'll be there during a user group or customer tour (after my vacation in Feb/March).

Spoke to Sally around 2 weeks ago...

Please send my best to everyone there...

>Best wishes to you on your new venture. I can never say thank you enough for all the great work you have done for the development community. For me that began with Codebook 2.0 and has continued with Codebook 2.6, 3.0 and Com Codebook. The Codebook 2.6 Satellite Session, and Flash Road Show for VFP 3.0 in San Francisco November 1995 were a blast.

>It seems like your concepts were a generation ahead of the community and provided a guiding light to our efforts. If this sounds flowery that is because I followed your principles using “The Fox”, and have been supporting my family for the last ten years by using them. So you have acted as my mentor and I am more than grateful for your generosity and sharing your knowledge.
>
>I see VFP and .NET being two very important items on my table as a software developer. Hope that you get time to pop down to San Francisco sometime in the near future and visit our VFP user group. It has been a while since we have seen you. Do you still have contact with Sally Wong?
>
>Congratulations on the new position and have a healthy and great year.

>>As some of you have heard, I’ve just joined Microsoft as the Lead PM/Evangelist for VB.NET. What this means is that I’ve been asked to help tie together the VB.NET dev group and the VB.NET developer community closely together. As part of this effort, I’ll also be working on designing the feature sets for the next few versions of VB.NET. It’s an awesome challenge, combining my love for community, cultural shifts and architecture.
>>
>>So, if you need to reach me, just email me at yag@microsoft.com. I’ll do my best to respond as quickly as possible.
>>
>>If you need more information, check out the VB section here on the UT for messages from Rob Copeland (Product Unit Manager) and me.
