Maybe some companies. Maybe it depends on the size of the firm. A small company with no IT staff except a copule of "computer guys" isn't gonna care what you write their app in. But that doesn't mean the developer shouldn't care. Using something like Ruby (which is fairly new and not well used) is just bad for the firm.
