Hi All,

I have a parent-child (one to many) relationship. The RI rule is restrict...do not allow the key value of the parent to be modified if it is in use by a child. All well and good.

Now in the application, we are editing a parent table record. The key field does not change but the another field did which causes a value on all child records tables to be recalculated. The trigger fires here and prevents the update to the child record.

My question: Have I misunderstood the RI rule firing?
