>I have a file of mixed DOS and windows origin. I have re-set the code page to remove the problems with bad accents etc. However, (due to mixed origin?) some records have errors with the accents. Can I resolve this? Thanks.

Meseems you somehow have to identify the records that have the wrong codepage (1), copy them to a temp file, mark that temp file with the "other" codepage, copy back.

(1) How? perhaps searching for certain characters that appear only in one CP. Like accented letters, for instance.
