Hi. Can anyone provide reliable info on the best licensing strategy in the following situation:

WHAT WE HAVE
2 VFP 6.0 Professional full licenses, 2 upgrades to VFP 6.0 from previous Fox versions, 1 VFP 7.0 full license, 1 Visual Studio 6.0 upgrade from a VB license. We still have another Visual Basic 5.0 Professional license that can be used as the basis of an upgrade.

To the best of my knowledge, a VFP license can be used in lieu of an FPD license as long as you don't actually use it for VFP. In fact, we are using them for that purpose, since only of us actually *uses* VFP, I am embarrased to say. On the other hand, in my defense, *nobody* here uses Visual Basic.

WHAT WE NEED - SHORT TERM
Will continue to need licenses for Fox Pro DOS for five users, and two of us will be developing in VS.NET, Enterprise edition. Will possibly be adding another VS.NET developer.

WHAT WE NEED - LONGER TERM
Looks like VS for the time being, more and more.

ABOUT MSDN
With MSDN Enterprise, if you purchase it for one year, do the licenses expire at the end of the year? Also, we have all the Windows and Offices we'll need for a while.

What purchasing strategy do you all suggest for 2002?

TIA, Alex
