Nice rewrite of history there, John. Whatever serves your purpose; you're always keen to self-gloss yourself, and rewrite it.

As I recall the Compuserve days, if someone came forth and wrote nonsense, it was called on its technical merits, among other merits, just as they are here.

Probably you're confusing Compuserve with the Offramp on DevX.

More to the point, I continue to publicly say that you're mostly full of it. You purport to say "what people don't want to hear" when, in fact, I accuse you of soggy thinking.

So go ahead and play the "PC" card. I don't buy it.

>I'll buy that... This has been my philosophy and goes to explain why I go out of my way to not be butt-munching politically correct individual. IMO, the political correctness that has infected the VFP community is the very thing that will hold it back. There was a time on compuserve when objective and rational discussions could take place without the worry of being labeled anti PC. One of my favorite people of all time in this community was Jeff Winchell. That guy was smart and told it like it was. I was on the receiving end of one of his tirades. When it was all said and done, I had to admit he was correct. In the end, it made me a better person, both personally and professionally...

>This entire episode must be giving the PC vocal minority of this community fits of rage. I know for a fact that many really want their pound of flesh - directly from my ass - so much so that many have made appeals for a certain company to do something about it..... The question to be asked is why? My guess is for no other reason that I am saying something they don't want to hear, the truth nothwithstanding. I appreciate that feeling as often I have demanded my pound of flesh was somebody really pissed me off. In the end however, fundamental fairness demands that something bigger must prevail.

>What does this mean? It means the knife cuts both ways. The right you have to express a point of view is only as strong as the right for somebody else to express an opposing point of view.
