I seem to recall right after college before the internet was available - yes, I'm old as dirt - that the thing to do was mail as many resumes as possible to the HR directors of companies you thought you had a chance at. It seemed acceptable then. Seems like just a variation of the same thing. Albeit, a really annoying variation...
