George,
The key question is how are you going to generate the unlock code. Will the trial users call someone or send an e-mail? If yes, then the Enterprise version would work fine and you would then manually generate the unlock code. We wanted to automate everything over the interent, so, we got the internet version.
Our system for distributing VFP apps over the web consists of:
1.) Protection Plus Internet Version (gives the ability to automate the unlock over the internet)
2.) SoftwareKey SOLO RegKeyGen Basic Component for generating unlocks (called from VFP web app)
3.) We wrote the 'softsell' web app, which is a shopping cart type of application, completely with VFP as an ASP VFP mtdll. That pretty much takes the place of their SOLO product which is expensive. I would even say that our web interface is better than theirs too - at least easier to modify. So you could just buy the components and save big bucks. Their high-end solution would be hosted on their site, I believe, and require a monthly payout.
One other thing, we use Verisign Payflow Paylink which is a very inexpensive way to process CC over the web. Using Payflow Link also negates the need for buying an SSL certificate since it's built-in.
Let me know if you need more info or are interested in the 'softsell' app...
