>Whats your favorite new security feature in Windows .NET Server?
I have been concentrating on using VS .NET in a scneario that VFP and VB 6 address. If you are talking about secure data, I suspect I will probably rely on the data engine itself for those services as opposed to relying on trusted connections in the OS.
I am not a security expert and if I had a client that needed consultation on security issues, while I could give some high-level advice, I would bring in somebody who make security their niche..
Trying to narrow the focus on security does not invalidate my points...

I don't think I am. IIRC, I repeatedly suggested that it takes more than a nice IDE and framework to make a sucessful Web service platform and you said something about but developer productivy is how IS manager's make their decisions.

And VS6 to VS.NET is a minor upgrade?

No..

The new ASP.NET, ADO.NET, CLR, IDE stuff isn't as drastic as FoxPro2 to VFP3?
<<
Could argue either way... It is like comparing apples and oranges. I would lean toward it being a paradigm shift like 2.x to VFP...
<<
How about the .NET Framework taking over the responsiblity that used to be up to languages, or how about VB becoming fully OOP?
<<
What about it? I think it is a great idea. I like the idea of frameworks. Frameworks have proven their worth to me. The fact that .NET embraces that is a good idea in my book...
