I've ran into this problem before to as there is a Change event but i can't make it do anything. One band-aid solution would be to use 2 static variables and assign the combo value to the first variable. Then in the click event assign the text value to the 2nd variable. Compare the two variables and if they are different then execute your code. Not a very pretty fix, but it should work.
