>This appears to be an unholy alliance of software we are trying to wed...We have a new Win2K station running a Pcaw 10.0.1 host over a cable connection. All is well until we attempt to run Foxpro 2.6a DOS on the host machine. Our snappy connection slows to a crawl (10-20second response). I have looked at the memory settings (all are marked automatic) and don't see anything of note. The app runs fine locally....just takes forever to go across Pcaw.

We use pca 10.5 with no problems. I am not aware of any special settings. We have the host on Win2000 and on Win98. The remote is on Win98, WinXP and Win2000. We just installed it 'right out of the box'. We really like 10.5 for the remote because it allows connection to multiple hosts which are behind a router where all hosts have the same Internet registered IP while access is through a specific port for status & data - without manually changing the registry settings. There still is no easy way to use your cable modem with DHCP. You still have to confirm the IP and manually change it before you can connect. If possible you can pay a little more for a static IP. PacBell charges about $30 more per month for 5 static IPs.
