Hi Malcolm
I was on the beta test for KONxiSE and I think it is a superbly elegant product. In does exactly as advertised. In one go it both compresses and protects my application. It requires no additonal external files and has passed all my own testing *except* when running on an NT4 box which had no service packs installed. XiTech are looking into this one.
I tested KONxiSE on W98, 98se, 98me, W2K+SP, NT+SP. In conjunction with a whole range of VFP add in tools like Graphcis Server, Focus, and others. It has also been tested under a range of anti-virus software as well. This is very important as often this creates problems when the app trys to decompress in memory.
I am not a hacker myself but another posting on the UT said that they could not figure out the compression technique KONxiSE used and were also very impressed by it. There is no noticable degradation in loading or running speed either. Its a very slick product IMHO.
I will stick with KONxiSE but probably buy the Armadillo 2.5 version too just to see all products and their abilities.
HTH
