Hi dog,
>>One thing is certain, you skills are portable, your existing projects (and investments in code) are not.
>Isn't that one of the reasons to switch to .NET; that your code would be portable???
Portable to what ? Sure you can create classes that are portable through the .NET framework, but how different is this compared to COM and ActiveX ? However if you're talking about the portability off all program source code, .NET isn't buying you a solution.
I still have to see what upwards compatablilty .NET provides for future version and what difficulties might arise. How easy is it to distribtue .NET applications on client PCs without .NET runtime requirements installed. How about version control. These things for me, as distributer of standard software towards many end-users PCs, are very, VERY important. Future will tell.
