Hi, all..

This is more-or-less a follow-up to a question I posted about a week or two ago.

VFP 6 app, SQL Server database...no DSN available.

I want to be able to do a SQLSTRINGCONNECT, to get a connection handle so that I can use SPT.

Only way I know how, without a DSN, is to use DRIVER=SQL SERVER in my connection string. This is based on an assumption that the SQL Server ODBC DLL Drivers are present and registered.

Is is a safe assumption that when SQL Server (or MSDE 2000) is installed, the necessary ODBC DLLs are registered such that I can safely use DRIVER=SQL SERVER in my string connection?

Thanks in advance,
Kevin
