Recovering from a previous version may be easier if you have version control installed. Perforce (www.perforce.com) is free for 1-2 developers, but requires a WinNt, Unix or Linux server. With version control, you will typically save several copies of a file a day - one for each major change.

OTOH, no, I don't know the cause of your woes.
