Daniel;

We use Visual Interdev (VI) and VSS which work well together. The debug feature of VI and ASP do not work well together. I do not use the DTC's (design time controls) and prefer to create all objects in code. VI has a few quirks - like "rearranging your code" when it wants to. Once that stops (after about six saves or so) it is stable. We use SQL Server 7.0 and we are about to migrate to version 2000.

Our application is for the company Intranet so we have limited things to one browser, in this case I.E. 5.0. Netscape? Forget it! Versions 5.5 and 6.0 of I.E. have some problems that we have not been able to resolve and have to do with DHTML. There are also some interesting printing anomolies that occur with 5.5 and 6.0 and not with 5.0.

Be sure to get some good reference material before it is no longer available. I have a feeling when .NET is released to the retail market it will begin to be difficult to find material on Visual Studio 6.0 and ASP. I have had good luck with Wrox publications but you will learn more by hacking than any book can hope to teach.

If you need any ideas on ASP let me know. I use many INCLUDE files to reduce my code, as well as style sheets (CSS).

Tom
