Perry;

Thank you for the reference. This should be an interesting ride. The article says, "quick creation of ASP sites", and says it will take more time and money to create .NET apps. Microsoft says less time to develop using .NET. Well, I used West-Wind Connection to create one form for my project. Total time to complete - one hour 12 minutes. It took 40 hours using ASP. ASP is a difficult beast to maintain when forms become complex. Time will tell which reference source is correct about it taking more or less time to develop in .NET compared to ASP.

If you should hear some screaming from up North (like the Bay Area) you will know it is me. :)

I've read several articles that discuss how a lot of ASP developers are going or are having a difficult time with .NET because they can no longer be strictly scriptors. They really need to learn to take the next step up and become programmers. I read a really good article that discusses this very issue:

I have a feeling when .NET is released to the retail market it will begin to be difficult to find material on Visual Studio 6.0 and ASP. I have had good luck with Wrox publications but you will learn more by hacking than any book can hope to teach.
