Not sure if this will help, but I've run into problems using INSERT on views. My specific problem had to do with when a UDF() in a default value actually ran on records added to a view.
IAC, I would try replacing the
INSERT INTO MyView FROM MEMVAR with an append blank and then use
replace or
gather to add a record to the cursor.
