Since I'm too lazy to find out intuitivly, I have to ask what the mailbox icon does?

When I click it, it says New Mailbox and gives me a chance to enter a mailbox name and click Save.

Again, I'm too lazy to see what happens if I Save a mailbox name.

Anyone care to fill me in on this feature.
