If u have some time, close Access and place a "FOR ! DELETED()" filter on your index on your VFP table and then try to "link" again via Access.
My testing shows that the ODBC driver / Access cant handle the "FOR ! DELETED()" filter on tables. Would like to know if u experience the same thing.
