In our product DATACLAS/VFP we use a combination of ADO and SPT. All of our data inserts/updates/deletes are handled through ADO. We use stored procs entirely in our applications and a ADO is the best tool to use for calling stored procs.

We use SPT for all of our queries. This is because SPT eliminates the cost for converting the data from ADO to DBF. It is a direct and fast mechanism for querying data and putting it in a native DBF format.
