George;

I always enjoyed how the Mid West weather could change on a dime. It does that here on the West Coast but your area is more interesting. I remember one day I was at a radar site and it was 48 below zero with 90 mile per hour winds. Two days later I was back in Kansas City and it was 110 with no wind! That was October 1966.

Temperature changes in early Spring can be something else. I went home for lunch at noon and it was 100 and at 4 PM left for the day and it was 10! Being in the Air Force, we had to wear the required uniform - the summer uniform - on that day. 10 degrees with a short sleeved shirt! Yes, that is the military!

At least civilians can dress for the weather but in the military you dress by the book. Winter uniform October 15 till April 14. Summer uniform April 15 till October 14. Re-enlist and enjoy the benifits! :)

>I remember a day in January in Chicago when it was in the 60s. Of course, the next it began snowing for 24 hours, dumped 36 inches of snow, and the day following that in got up to a very mild 5 below. From looks of the weather forecasts I've seen, they may be having a reprise.< s >
