>>I "enjoyed" many interesting weather patterns while living in San Angelo, Texas. I think Texas is where God experiments with weather to see what mankind can tolerate! :) One minute it is nice and the next minute......... You fill in the blank.

>That's one of the best descriptions of Texas weather I've heard! Today, we're expecting a high of 80, and on Friday, it will be in the low 50s or high 40s. Typical for this time of year.

Pete;

That's mighty mean! :)

Memories: February 12 San Francisco 72 degrees - I left for Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base. We arrived at 0400 (4 AM) and it was 10 degrees with ice on the ground. Two months later when I completed training and left, it was 110 degrees in San Antonio.

San Angelo was interesting. One day it would be 104 with 4% humidity and the Swamp Cooler worked very well. The next day it would be 104 with 98% humidity and you can forget about Swamp Cooler's. The Miller moths would attack us from all directions. Nasty little fellows. Pecan trees every where. Not a Redwood tree in sight.

There was a one lane road that went from San Angelo North to some lake. One day the police had the road closed and I asked why. It seems that they have some rich people that own yachts and they have a race on the lake each year. The yachts require a big rig and trailer to haul them and occupy most of the North/South lanes so they simply close the road for a few minutes while people are moving their boats. Have you ever seen a yacht on a public hiway? I have only seen them in water. They are huge!

Winter days were also different. One day hot the next day cold. I have lots of funny stories about my San Angelo days with Air Force Security Service at Goodfellow Air Force Base. But then I like to look at the humorous side of life! :)
