As an aside, if you are looking to replace that existing box with a PC for recording and/or control purposes or whatever, look at a Basic Stamp DTMF to RS-232 board like http://www.dschmidt.com/dtmf.html. I have built something similar and it might work for your application. You can't by the Stamp and programming software for $45USD.
