>>I am interested in any comments or suggestions concerning the incorporation of an existing application framework. I purchased Visual Maxframe but have found that it is too time consuming figuring out what can be used and what can't for the particular application your working on. It is also poorly documented. I see that Visual ProMatrix is menu driven and may be more user friendly. All comments and help would be greatly appreciated since it is taking me way too long to gear up and generate an application.

>Ray, I agree about the VMF documentation. However, I think that most of the frameworks have a fairly steep learning curve. My group is using VMF (a corporate decision) and we're finding it gets easier as we continue working with it and that the conveniences outweigh the slow startup time. We started with just a couple of forms and controls, and are gradually developing quite a useful library of classes. It's also VERY nice to know that everyone's forms will have the same user-interface: colors, button captions, movement between forms, etc.

I have tried them both and returned Visual ProMatrix and kept Visual MaxFrame Professional.

They are very different from each other. Visual ProMatrix is an application generator and Visual MaxFrame is a class library. I found myself liking the class library approach better because I NEED to know what is going on behind the scenes (probably a fault of mine). Visual ProMatrix would be faster to create one application as long as you like the way they do things.

By the way, make sure that you invest in the Professional Version of Visual MaxFrame is you are going to use.

Both of them have money back offers. Just buy them both and invest a week in each. You'll like one better than the other. You might also take a look at Visual FoxExpress and Codebook for Mere Mortals.
