CDO works using generic way for connecting to mail server or local filers (Outllok or Exchange for example). So it does nto contain anything for that, it just uses the server's tools for that.
I recommend you to read more about CDO6 (proided with W2K), where this question is discussed better.
In general, I think Type property of the Message object could have something to that, or the message reqyure to add a special keyword to the message. Just try to send a message to self in HTML format using some mailing client, then read it into the CDO programmatically, stop the program at that point, and browse all the properties of the objects (do this in VFP7) to see where is something that indicate that message is in HTML format.
