I don't have an answer to your problem, I see that Sergey has done that. I am curious to know if the 2.6 tables are converted to vfp tables. I have lots of 2.6 that I would love to use in vfp, but I can't let the format be changed because of legacy apps. Are your tables converted when you create the view(s)?
