Since I've asked this question myself in the past (on other fora), I did a search here, and came up with many messages that referred to both RTF and reports. In one of those I found a reference to this issue in message #594639 where Garret Fitzgerald pointed to Microsoft Knowledge Base#Q246088 HOWTO: Apply RichText Effect in VFP Reports. that looks like an excellent learning tool; I'll be digging into that in the near future.
