I've created views of 2.6 tables in VFP. I've opened them exclusively, packed them etc. The only thing that'll prevent 2.6 from opening a table that's been accessed by VFP is to add it to a VFP DBC.

If you require exclusive use of the table, I would SET CPDIALOG to OFF. By default the setting is ON.
