Then neither the ODBC datasource nor the DSNless connection will work.

That's not necessary. I don't know about you, but I'd rather avoid having my user go into the ODBC Administrator if possible. All you need to know is the name and path for the MDB file and you can make a connection with no user intervention or having to explain how to use the ODBC Administrator.
