I sometimes get that error using Word automation. Specifically when there is a dialog box pending input that I can't see becuase I haven't set the .visible property to .T. for that object.

For instance if I use Word to try and open a file that is otherwise in use. Word wants to prompt me to "Open a copy" or "Cancel" or some other stuff, and I can see it because oWord.Visible = .F.
