OOPS! I accidently sent this to Eric (sorry Eric!). Here is my message Robert:

Hi Robert, If you are just starting out with VFP and interested in the 'behind the scenes' of building an app but want to have the ability to create apps quickly also, I would search the UT threads for 'frameworks.' Most of them allow you a tremendous amount of flexibility. It is also much easier to develop your app using a framework rather than try to switch down the road with pre-existing apps. Some of them have downloads you can try before you buy.

We chose Visual FoxExpress which you can get information on at: http://www.f1tech.com/vfe6/ at my last employment and I use it personally. There are many to choose from and everyone has their own preference. I would start researching here:

http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~EvaluatingFrameworks~softwareEng

I would also do a search on the UT threads for books. There are some GREAT books to get you started which have been discussed in many threads on the UT. Pete mentioned one of the best. Good luck, and don't forget to post any questions you have here on the UT. People are more than willing to help you out while you are learning!

Tracy

>I admit I'm kind of new at this , and I am quite dissapointed by the 'wizards' , especially the app wizard .I'd like to have more control on how my app behaves .

>If you know any articles , sites or the like which can help me with this , please let me know.
