The DCOMCNFG utility is a lot more than an alternative for CREATEOBJECTEX(). An interesting one is the possiblity to open the remote object under another LOGIN than the currently logged on user. This makes it possible to complete hide and protect the directory of the remote application from the user.

I used the DCOMCNFG utility because it could not make it work with createobjectex() for an unknown reason.
