Thanks for the reference -- however, it is a bit of a stretch to imply that the info documented at the URL you supplied would lead a person to a conclusion of what was necessary to make long strings work in a pass-thorough statement unless that person already knew what's what :-)

But thanks away; I appreciate your response; meanwhile, think about updating the documentation that deals directly with the SQLEXEC function so as to benefit of other newbies to pass-through technology. Similarly, it would be nice to have an example of the use of passing parameters to the list of VALUES in an insert or update action (only examples I see use this in association with the WHERE clause.

Now happy again in Annapolis...
