we have vfp 3.0b in its own directory and vfp 5.0 in its own directory and use both every day without any problems. Just make sure you do not open 3.0 projects in 5. The problems in Office 97 had to do with odbc drivers which had bugs in them. There is a patch from ms on the vfp web page. See the knowledge base for the specific address. You can install vfp without installing the text driver and the paradox driver which were the ones with the problems. bob
