furthermore, you can stop users from directly accessing .dbf files through an installed version of VFP 5,6,7 by using "database events"...
although on the surface VFP 7 appeared to me to be a 'superficial' upgrade I was proven incorrect once I actually got my hands dirty and started working with VFP 7 to build applications.
VFP 7's intellisense, database events, and web services enhancements make it well worth the upgrade effort.
I have found the VFP 7 upgrade from VFP 6 anything BUT superficial.
