>>>What is the best way to create/distribute new reports for existing app for remote clients? I have a client who constantly asks me to create new reports for an app I developed. When the report gets little complicated with table joins etc., I try to create local views to use in the reports. However, after I finish creating the report, I have to remotely upload the report files AND recreate the local view on the clients computer.

>>>The second step is getting laborious. Is there a better way?

>>John,
>> It's too late for this project, but have you thoght about giving your users a Report writer option in their systems (like FoxFire!)?? Makes it a little easier for them ,since FF stores most data you need ina Data table or set of tables..

>Tony,
>Actually, my client has a standard copy of VFP 3.0 that he sometimes uses to create his own simple reports. However, since he is not very proficient with even the report write, he asks me to do create reports that use multi tables and joins on those tables. Anyway, how easy is it for end-user to use FF? Easier than VFP's own Report writer (which really isn't that easy!)? I might look in to this product if it is very simple to use for my client.

At
www.strategicedge.com/ you will find a product called QueryMaker, which is specifically intended as a query builder for end-users. GenRepoX, which I think is located at
www.foxgang.com, is Markus Egger's freeware end-user report builder, allowing user selection of fields and field order during run-time. I have never tried either one. Both of these are intended specifically for foxpro.
