Your earlier messages said the problem was instantiating Excel 2002. Now you're talking about Office 2000.
In all cases, is it the CreateObject() line that's causing the crash? If so, I really do have to be suspicious of what's in the Registry, and other configuration issues.
Maybe someone who's run into problems like this (I haven't) can jump in here and make some other suggestions.
