We found this to be true in our app as well. we had 88 tables in the dbc. Our next version was slated to be a major re-write and to use only free tables and drop the dbc. We were going to use Stonefield and our own in house meta data driven engine. Prelimimary tests showed a major increase in speed and stablility. We moved all our trigger and rules to the middle tier. However, we have since made the move away from Fox to SQL Server and VC++ and .Net for the re-write, but we were poised to drop the dbc.
We see the hand writing on the wall.
