Gestionnaire de rapports & Rapports
>We have converted our application to Windows and are using VFP6 with our current version. We have noticed that when we sentd a report TO FILE ASCII we don't get the nice columns and spacing that we had in our DOS based versions. What is happening here? Is there any way to get a file that doesn't smash all the data together and preserves the basic structure of the reports as they would appear on the screen or printer. I don't want the formatting to carry over, just all the data with appropriate spacings.
For matrix printers we use the old FoxPro2.5. If you write a report with it and then issue a "REPORT FORM myrep.frx" from VFP it works very well.
Obviously you should own a copy of this ancient version (I don't know if it's available somewhere) but the result is perfect. We also wrote our own driver to interpret special charcters inside the report for printing in condensed, bold, etc...
