Ok, I got it. What I needed was a better understanding of the set color to command. In Microsofts infinite wisdom, fox5's help on the subject says:"Included for backward compatibility. Use SET COLOR OF SCHEME instead." Thanks for your help Microsoft! What I discovered what set color to foreground/background,editable foreground/editable background is the syntax. So set color to w+/b,rg+/bg gives me white foreground with a blue background and editable regions of yellow and cyan.
