Actually another reason I don't see this behavior is because my lowest level cForm class does an explicit ACTIVATE SCREEN in it's Deactivate() code so that

1) any command window ?/?? output goes onto the desktop where it belongs and
2) any devtime browse windows do not assume the size/position of the form

with that code in place your dialog form would have been the only one ever adversely affected by using ?? chr(7)
