So send them a virus or a nice little C exe with a pointer to reformat his/her hard disk. Little things we did in class to have fun!

Now what might be considered a "small project"? I am sure these guys are serious but I am not sure what they are serious about. Where is that guy who wants to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge? :)
