I want to know what the value is because I need to know what id I am using. I am adding information to a detail table at the same time. Or I could just add one to the last ID used. but I need that value to display on insert.

I want to mark the record as inprocess and reusable. If the user saves the record I set inprocess and reusable to false. If the user reverts, the inprocess flag is set to false and then when another addition is added it looks for a reusable record first and then changes inprocess to true again.
