I just wanted to share something we found out today regarding print delays to network printer shares from foxpro 2.6 Dos. We typically configure a network printer using the 'net use' command for foxpro 2.6 for DOS. We've been experiencing printing delays of 30-45 seconds from withing FPD26 when the user chooses to print to any printer on any port other than lpt1. We found out that changing the following registry key to 1 (from the original value of 15) resolves this problem and there is no longer a delay:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WOW\LPT_Timeout
This resolves our problems in Win 95/98/NT/2K/XP. Hope it helps someone else out there!
