I have horrible problems with this, and problems that don't happen all the time. Some of it may be related to video drivers/video card. Some systems that had a STB Velocity card had the problem, other machines (such as mine!) with a ATI Rage card did not have the problem, even with the same printer driver. I found I was not alone in my troubles: A search on the internet revealed http://geek.com/rants/stbblows.htm where somebody couldn't run a game on the Velocity card.

At http://www.cnet.navy.mil/netpdtc/cipm99/faqprinters.htm#printer-1 someone in the Navy indicates that this error occurred when using newer printer drivers, but does not indicate what video drivers were in use.
