I think the problem is in using the point system as a reward and recognition tool. I understand that it was done that way hoping to encourage use, but I think in a professional forum it's unnecessary. I mark all messages appropriately (when I have time) and do it so others can find the posts that were the most helpful and/or provided the solution. I hope that others do the same for the same reason.

I unfortunately can't search for past threads (Non-PUTM) but I do agree that it's silly to put in a professional forum also, and I don't think people should be rated by it.

I also mark messages appropriately, becuase I know that if you don't, some members get wound up.
