OK you got me here, if you don't get any benefits for getting points (ie free PUTM) & there are no rankings that are viewable, exactly what is the point of the points system ?

I can see value in marking threads as answered either in full or in part with the stars system, but as much as I read your explanations, I dont see the value of the points.
