The problem I am raising is that I will never get a response to someones problem, even if I tried like hell, so why have points when people seem to chase them at a ridiculous level? It means no-one else gets a look in.

>Yes, I think you had to wait longer for a response several months ago too, and you think that was better? I am so THANKFUL that some developers have both the time and the inclination to help me when I post a problem. It has saved me numerous times. The faster I get a response (for whatever reason) the better. I mark threads as the answer when it solves the problem and as help when it help me solved the problem or was an addditional solution (sometimes there is more than one way to skin a cat). I am grateful for other members marking threads because when I search, I can tell which threads were the resolution without having to read all of the messages. I could care less about the points or whether they are even referred to as 'points' or not. If the points were the incentive for some to take the time to answer threads, I had no problem with that. All I cared about was getting the resolution to my problem as quickly as possible. The UT has been a great resource and learning tool!

>>>
>>>That's your interpretation. No one is chasing anyone.
>>
>>Well, it's funny how it was never this competetive to get a response in before the points were introduced!!

>>>This is irrevelant. Members are free to do whatever they want as far as taking the opportunity to help someone.
>>
>>See above response, the points are obviously driving some people.

>>>
>>>Yes, I need it and as the members requested it, it's better to have it there than to duplicate all that effort in public and private interfaces.
>>
>>Fair enough.
>>
>>>I'm done with this topic. Your beating a dead horse and I can't no longer afford to spend some time on it as I already did when we worked that case with several members a few weeks ago. You should have participated in those discussions at that time. This is the conclusion about what we decided.
>>
>>Like I said in the beginning, this is just a view that I am making now because I'm pretty sure it wasn't this bad several months ago.
